Club 1572 Gets New Hand Rails

No, OSHA didn't make me do this

file this under "you never really noticed how bad something looks until you fix up the stuff around it".

after recently scraping and painting the house, i noticed that the hand rails on the front steps looked a little dinky.

as attentive richardvining.com readers may already know, pickle iron co. took care of a little fence project for me a year or so ago.

pleased with the results of that project, i called back mr pickle and asked him to come check things out.

his analysis was that what i had "looks like crap" and that i needed something "a little more substantial" to hang onto.

being in total agreement with his prognosis, i gave him a deposit and he went on his way.

a few days later he came by with some "designs" he had sketched out on a legal pad.

these "designs" involved using arches - a concept that not only repeats itself all over the house, but also less than 2 miles away @ our local McD's.

seeing how mr. pickle had successfully used arches on the fence project in order to accent the windows all across the front and sides of the house, i decided he knew what he was doing and gave him the green light to commence welding.

the finished product
now i know your going... "whoa whoa whoa wait a second. what happened to all the installation pics we all so look fwd to?"

well, i was looking fwd to them as too but apparently pickle iron works came by in the middle of the night with their black helicopters and installed these things while we were sleeping. so sorry, no install pics. i was @ "work" and missed the entire deal.

anyway, while i am pleased with the results i did find myself going back to how all this started...
.
"you never really noticed how bad something looks until you fix up the stuff around it"

i now realize that my planters look like warmed over poo on a stick and will have to be moved to my short list of things to be replaced.

oh well, that will have to be a project for another day.

thanks for stopping by - OUT
