My Rat Trap Takes the Test

While I'm not very happy about it, time has expired and I think that we have to say that the rodent's have spoken and that the trap is a failure*.

Why? Well as for the title of the wager's title of "Will it Work", I think we can say that yes... given the right circumstances, the trap will work. What circumstances are those you ask? Well for starters, we would need to do a test in an environment free of squirrels. Those little guys just picked me blind all day. And given their mastery of living in 3D, they were darn near impossible to stop. (video proof) The only thing that seemed to hold them back was nightfall, but that caused two other problems.

First, seeing how it tends to get dark at night, I had trouble obtaining quality surveillance video. Furthermore, with cooler temperatures upon us, anything that might have fallen into the bucket suddenly had an ice floor to stand on. That would have made it easy for a captured rat to have climbed out. It was frustrating. So did the trap work? It might have, but since I have no proof I have to FAIL it.

24 / 7 video surveillance was in effect. Rodents were able to eat bait off the snap trap without problems

But before you completely write this idea off, know that I will be testing the trap in a different environment soon (like the garage). This will elliminate most of the issues caused by being outside by the dumpsters and should produce the desired result... a dead rat. I would have moved it sooner, but I didn't think that would be fair to those of you whom had already wagered.

rvining - 4/2/2008 7:43:23 AM Hey, while I know the bet is over and all, I still feel compelled to let you know that IT WORKED last night... twice! Over the weekend we replaced a fence and, while I was pulling up some ivy, I saw a rat run out and head for the garage. So I simply reloaded the trap and placed it right by the old fence. BANG! 2 dead rats in less than 8 hours. I KNEW it would work!

aj - 4/3/2008 4:18:31 PM the only reason we know memphis was tested is because someone failed. you never hear about drug tests otherwise, so UCLA, UNC, and Kansas were potentially tested as well. i got randomly tested at least four times a year at UNC and i'm sure the bball team gets tested more than that. Jan got randomly tested at Samford too. no drugs, no problems. tigers will be fine without allen because they are deep and fast.

The subject of cheating via drug use is being discussed by two people using the same username. How ironic. I see now how aj remains champ in the rvpr. I was happy with second and it was a pretty good run, but now I question, should I have been #1?
