Perkins Parking Pad

Engineering Marvel on "Keepin it Real Avenue"

the motivation
dude need a place to park his "working" car
difficult to mow around a parked car without scratching it with the mower
messy lawn clippings stick to freshly shined rig's paint job

the plan
build a place to park
do so for under $75 bucks
express yourself with "free-form" design

the tools
50 foot garden hose
oscillating sprinkler
several bags of sakcrete
a lunch hour

cast your mind for a moment...
so, after a quick check with the south perkins homeowners association the renovations @ 1801 south perkins were underway.

from the picture below, you can see contrasting building styles. from the constrictive straight angles of the existing home, to the much more artistic free form parking pad, this piece of property now has it all.

of course, even an artistically formed parking pad is useless unless it has a certain degree of functionality... so while nobody was home i decided to test it!

from this angle you can see the design quite well
a neighbor was tending to the land while
i conducted my documentary
(he declined an interview)

conclusion: never let a lack of time, desire, money, motivation or pride (which is a deadly sin i do believe) get in the way of expressing yourself in the way you want to park your sled.
