The Insane Cooler Project |
Back in 2002, the first year of "Live at the Garden", I put together what was for the time, an incredible creation by mounting 8" lawn mower wheels onto my Coleman 48. Not only did this addition make it easier for me to haul around 75 lbs plus of food and beverage in the summer heat, it had a considerable "oooooh" factor associated with it. Everywhere I went, people would come over and ask where I had purchased such a thing, and it always made me proud to say - "I made it". |

| So it was with that in mind that I decided to do something. Something so over-the-top that there was no way anybody could match it. Something completely ridiculous, yet incredibly functional. Something that would command attention, yet be above any jeers (excluding jealousy). Something that would once again make people ask where I purchased such a thing. And most of all, something that I could once again proudly say - "I made it." | |||||
| With that, I present to you the I.C.P. aka The Insane Cooler Project. It is the product of two months of part shopping, nine different stores, and 45 nights of assembly. Enjoy, and I look forward to seeing you at the next Live at the Garden. Just follow the noise made from my XM Satellite Radio. I'll be the one with the most awesome cooler ever assembled declaring myself "THE WINNER!" | |||||

rvining - 4/29/2008 3:13:37 PMBEHOLD! I release to my latest 'incredible creation' in the form of the I.C.P. - WINNER! |
kristen - 4/29/2008 9:37:30 PMIt jams! |
evining - 4/30/2008 9:06:23 AMamazing!!! oddly, it somehow doesn't strike me as tacky at all. very well done, I must see it! It looks like the richard version of C3PO. I like how the speakers and cd player and other tuning devices are arranged. From a distance It may appear you put serious wheels on a serious boom box. The white wheels and elevation factor are a nice touch. My only question is: where does your water pressure for the sink come from. I can't get over it this thing is really awsome!!! It looks like something you would see at a car or boat expo. |
rvining - 4/30/2008 2:31:48 PMthe original design called for just making the thing completely pimped out. curb feelers, disco balls, neon under lighting, spinners, etc. But as the overall cost estimates went up, I decided to make it look more like a finished product rather than a ghetto-rod. I really do think people will think that I bought the thing. It has that sort of look to it. |
aj - 4/30/2008 9:52:48 PMi want a personal tour of this boat! |
rvining - 5/1/2008 10:19:16 AMtalk somebody out of their LAG tickets. OR, I was considering taking the thing to the Sunset Symphony at the end of Memphis in May. It might be more well appreciated there anyway. |
