Mail Merge Follies

This is what happens when machines attempt to make that personal touch

i like this one due to the fact that it is from a company that sells accurate mailing lists.
note the very accurate "Richard Vineing"

last i checked... www.richardbining.com was still available

this one happens A LOT. (like twice a week)
dunno how it got started other than my vague connection to the investment banking firm Vining Sparks

another variation... the "I" comes from when Vining Sparks used to be named Vining-Sparks, IBG
note how my name gets totally lost with the "Dear Mr. Sparks"

apparently "Asrn" is the official mail merege way to type out the word "Assurance"

now they totally butchered this one... i like the sincere "Dear Sparks I. Vining" part

apparently i live @ work

more Vining Sparks (company) -vs- Richard Vining (person) confuzion
i think they tried to make a name out of "VINING SPARKS IBG" where Vining is my first name, Sparks is my middle name, and for some strange reason... IBG is my last name

columbia house CD club
few things are as personal as calling somebody by their last name

dude, get my name right then i might think about gettin a dell
here you can see that dell broke away from the standard "avrn" abbreviation in favor of the much more clear "assrnc". also note that they attempted to abbreviate the words "revenue" and "professionals".

i guess the power of Microsoft bCenteral isn't in getting my name right...
and what's up with calling people by their last name only?

i am soooooo international
